Dear Members, i would like to forward your interest to the offer "Open Scientific Assistant / PhD (100% position) at ETHZ, Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Group." The main task will be the participation in current research projects and teaching duties of the group within the curriculum Geomatic Engineering and Planning. The successful candidate will undertake independent high-level scientific research in Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Computer Vision aiming at a Ph.D. thesis within approximately 4 years. We offer good supervision, all necessary infrastructure, an international team, and we actively encourage continuous education, e.g. through participation in conferences and courses. The teaching duties include support and supervision of students in lectures, exercises and labs, seminar projects as well as Master- and Bachelor-Theses, and exams. Bachelor courses are in German, Master courses in English. Master- and Bachelor-Theses can be freely defined to fit your research interests, within the rules of the Department. Candidates should hold a university degree (Master/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent degree) in Geomatic Engineering or related disciplines (e.g. Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics). Further requirements are a high degree of initiative, good mathematics and programming skills, and proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of German is an additional advantage.
