======================================= Post-doc position in digital map aided GPS, including 3D city model at ============================== The context of the position is a 3 years national cooperative research project called CityVIP with 5 universities (LASMEA, INRIA Lagadic and Arobas, Xlim, Heudyasic), the French geographic institute (IGN), an industrial partner for GIS (BeNomad) and the LCPC. The project aims at demonstrating the feasibility of the navigation of robotized public individual vehicles in a city centre. Together with Xlim and Heudyasic, the LCPC research team called "Image processing and geopositioning" is in charge of developing tight fusion algorithms hybridising a GNSS sensor (RTK GPS or EGNOS receiver) with proprioceptive sensors (odometers and yaw rate gyroscope) and a priori information contained in the 3D city model (Bati 3D and BD Alti IGN data bases) in which the vehicle will evolve. The post-doc also includes the analysis of the output of various algorithms provided by CityVIP partners once applied on a benchmark that should be made in Paris during the first year of the project. The candidate will be integrated in a group already composed of 1 permanent researcher, 1 research engineer, 1 post-doc on another project (for year 2009) and 1 PhD and will take part in the development of the real-time data fusion algorithms, especially on the aspects of GNSS raw observables uncertainty modelling, outliers detection and isolation, critical for the fusion. Candidates should preferably have a Ph-D in Geomatics Engineering or Navigation with a good expertise in GNSS positioning algorithms andinertial navigation, and should be familiar with Geographical Information Systems and digital maps, including in a real-time context.
C++ programming will be appreciated.
Fluent English is mandatory, good French would be highly appreciated.
