09.04.2009 09:55 | The international Group on Earth Observations (GEO, www.earthobservations.org) recently issued a Call for Proposals (CFP) "Earth Observations in Decision Support." This CFP seeks projects that apply Earth observations (remote sensing, satellite data, ground monitors, models, etc.) to improve decision making. There is a strong focus on helping developing countries build skills and capacity to access and use Earth observations. There are 3 categories of projects, depending on an organization's knowledge and experience with applications. The four themes in the CFP are Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Health. The CFP also requests people & organizations to be Advisors to projects in developing countries. GEO is using a unique funding approach to these projects, brokering connections to match projects with donor organizations.
The Call for Proposals is available through the GEO website www.earthobservations.org. The brief Concept Proposals are due June 4, 2009, and Full Proposals are due November 10, 2009. One of the overall goals of this CFP is to build worldwide interest, abilities, and overall demand for Earth observations, products, and services. For ASPRS, we hope this is a unique opportunity to share your knowledge of remote sensing applications, build your networks, and identify new markets and customers. |
